Dusit Princess Ipoh is set to open its doors on 1 October 2026, adding a Thai‑inspired hospitality option to the Malaysian city’s growing tourism scene.
Opening date and location
The 268‑room hotel sits beside the Perak Turf Club, a historic racing venue, and is under a five‑minute drive from Ipoh’s central district. Sultan Azlan Shah Airport, which runs direct flights from Singapore, lies roughly ten minutes away, making the property easily reachable for regional travelers.
Ipoh, located about 200 km north of Kuala Lumpur, grew from a late‑19th‑century tin‑mining boom into a commercial hub. Its historic centre preserves colonial shophouses, traditional kopitiams and small businesses that echo the city’s past.
Room types and amenities
Accommodation spans five categories, from 25 sq m Superior Rooms to 58 sq m Family Suites. All rooms feature high‑speed Wi‑Fi, smart TVs, quality bedding and in‑room safes. Family units include kitchenettes to support longer stays.
Guests can also use an outdoor pool, Kids Club, self‑service laundry, a prayer room and a 6,580 sq ft fitness centre with extended hours. Accessible rooms meet universal design standards.
Food and event spaces
The Atrium, an all‑day dining venue, offers panoramic views of limestone hills and the city skyline. Breakfast includes local staples such as nasi lemak, roti canai, kway teow goreng and dim sum, alongside continental choices. A lobby coffee shop serves specialty teas, coffees, juices and pastries.
For meetings, weddings or conferences, the hotel provides three flexible venues totaling about 964 sq m. The main Kinta Ballroom, at 496.8 sq m, can seat 400 guests theatre‑style or 300 for round‑table events, equipped with LED screens, sound systems and adjustable lighting. Smaller gatherings fit into the 383 sq m Kampar Hall or the 84 sq m Gopeng Room.
While the brand emphasizes practical comfort, the property also showcases locally inspired artwork that reflects Ipoh’s distinctive character.
